The Big Brush and Healthy Body Week

In March Lilliput took part in the National Day Care Associations Healthy Body Week, which perfectly coincided with Sports Relief. You may remember that for Sports Relief and Healthy Body Week we asked you to dress your child in sports gear. This meant it was a lot easier for them to bend and stretch for the yoga classes, obstacle courses and general sporty play put on by their rooms. The Thursday of that we week we asked you to bring in both toothbrushes and toothpaste for The Big Brush which promoted healthy teeth!

CatapillaFlowerOutdoor Play and Gardening

This year we are encouraging all ages to get involved with the gardening of our outdoor areas. The children are joining up from different rooms to make new friends and learn new things… Babies, Pink Room and Pre-school had lots of fun in one of the gardens.

SunFAMILY FUN DAY 2010!

This year Family Fun Day will be on Friday the 9th July and will be from 3pm—5pm. The theme this year is ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. It is held in Vauxmead Field opposite the church. We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for The White Lodge centre in Chertsey, which costs around £1000 just to run each day. Please keep this afternoon free so that you can join in the fun. This is an annual event and includes races (both for children and parents), raffles, lucky dips, fancy dress parades and the notorious Silent Auction!! We are collecting donations now so please keep an eye out for anything that could be used as a prize for both the raffles and Silent Auction and drop them into the office. We contact both local and national companies but would very much appreciate any help you and your company could offer. This year we really do want to make a difference. We have already enlisted the help of Krispy Kreme, Benefit make-up and Shepperton Film Studios as well as a local Indian Restaurant. Massala in Cobham have offered to hold a Curry Night just for us to raise even more money than last year!! We have 70 tickets but if we do not receive much interest we will not be able to proceed with the night. Each ticket will cost around £28 and will include both a starter and main course as well as breads and side dishes. The restaurant will take only £7.50 per head for the cost of food. This means we could raise around £1400 to donate to The White Lodge Centre as well as what we raise from Family Fun Day itself. Please let us know if this is something you would be interested in so we can decide how to proceed.

FlowerLast year we managed to raise £3261.53 for The Children’s Respiratory Service at St Peters Hospital. Each year we manage to raise more than the last, we would love to be able to donate £4000, but we will need to raise £800 more than last year. Can we do it...LETS TRY!!
