HAPPY WELCOMES & SAD GOODBYES

Whilst we have welcomed many new families over the last few months we were also very sad to see so many excited Pre-school children leave to go onto ‘big school’. We are going to miss them very much but wish them a very happy time.

Happy welcomes and sad goodbyes

CHILDREN’S PHOTOGRAPHS

Jeremy, our photographer, was in throughout the week commencing 27th of October 2008. Your child’s key-worker will let you know nearer the time as to when his/her photograph will be available. You will receive proofs of the photograph and will have the option of black and white or colour and for the first time you can have your child’s photo printed onto a canvas.

ALL BOXED UP

You have probably noticed that the corridor has been full of boxes for the past couple of weeks. These are all new toys and furniture for the children to play with and use in all our outside areas. We recently put in a massive order and are now just awaiting the last few bits and bobs, so that we can really put everything to good use.

SECURITY

Please make sure you sign your child in every morning, leaving a contact name and number, and ‘In Case of emergency’ details. If someone else is picking up your child please remember to fill in an 'Authorisation to collect my child'. Please do not give your please code to anyone. We will let them in after checking I.D. to anyone.

FAMILY FUN DAY

This years sport themed Family Fun Day was held on the 18th of July and we didn't do too badly with the weather, which luckily managed to hold out until the very last minute and so we were able to claim back the field which was unfortunately soaked through last year. Fun, therefore, was had by all, this was especially evident in the dads sack race, in which with so many competitors we had to arrange 3 heats, rather than the usual 1 race. We managed to raise £3141.33 for the Early Births Fund at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Peter’s Hospital, our 2008 chosen charity.

HEALTH & SAFETY

A reminder to all parents about our Policy on children who become ill with sickness and or diarrhoea . We follow the guidelines set by the environmental health officer i.e. A child must not return to nursery until 48 hours after the last instance of sickness or diarrhoea. If your child has a rash or spots please get them checked by your GP. We have many pregnant women attending the nursery on a daily basis and some infections could be detrimental to them.

CHRISTMAS

This year the pre-school Christmas Nativity play will be on the 12th December at 2:30pm and will be ‘Snowman at sunset,. Due to the number of children that will be in the play there are, only 2 places are available for parents/carers for each child. However, our dress rehearsal will be on the 5th of December at 3:00pm, when grandparents, Aunties and Uncles and anybody else you wish to invite is more than welcome to come and sing along and generally join in the fun.

The Lilliput Christmas Party this year for every room will be on the 12th of December and will start promptly at 3pm. Hopefully Father Christmas will be dropping into each room with his, always full, never ending, sack of presents for each and every child. As usual there will be plenty of snacks and drinks to go around for parents and carers, whilst children get to enjoy a boxed pack tea after playing some exciting and entertaining games in their wonderfully festive costumes.
